چکیده
Abstract The geotechnical industry has widely adopted the refraction microtremor shear-wave velocity measurement technique, which is accepted by building authorities for evaluation of seismic site class around world. Clark County and City Henderson, Nevada, populated their Earthquake Parcel Map with over 10,000 measurements code enforcement, made a 3-year period. 2D analysis now allows engineers to image lateral variations do passive subsurface imaging. Along experience at basic level, ability identify “no energy area” “minimum-velocity envelope” on slowness-frequency ( p-f ) helps practitioners assess quality ReMi data analysis. Guides grading quality, estimating depth sensitivity, velocity-depth tradeoffs, resolution also assist in deciding whether will meet investigation objectives. Commercial surveys use linear arrays, new criterion 2.2% minimum array direction users likelihood correct results. Unfortunately, any useful popular technique can be abused. Practitioners must follow collection, analysis, interpretation, procedures, or results cannot labeled “refraction microtremor” “ReMi” We present some common mistakes provide solutions objective establishing “best practices” template getting consistent, reliable models from measurements.

it is very important to study and simulate s-wave structure for near surface (alluvium parts, in particular) owing to its direct relationship to urban facilities in geotechnical and earthquake engineering studies. so, in seismic microzonation, the first step is to study and identify s-wave pattern in alluvium in order to categorize different parts of cites according to s-wave velocity. current ...

geological conditions of tabriz, a growing city in nw-iran, are strongly influenced by north tabriz fault (ntf). north tabriz fault is a major seismogenic fault in nw-iran. so, for a correct seismic microzonation, shear wave velocity (vs) structure in different part of city should be determined. but urban conditions, such as ambient noise due to cultural activity, restrict the general applicati...

Aims. To investigate the effect of gravitational lensing of supernovae in large ongoing surveys. Methods. We simulate the effect of gravitational lensing magnification on individual supernovae using observational data input from two large supernova surveys. To estimate the magnification due to matter in the foreground, we simulate galaxy catalogs and compute the magnification along individual l...
متن کاملEffect of age on ocular microtremor activity.
BACKGROUND Ocular microtremor (OMT) is a high-frequency tremor of the eyes. It is present in all individuals and is related to brainstem activity. The OMT signal appears as an irregular oscillatory movement with intermittent burst-like components. The clinical interest in OMT has centered on its use in the assessment of the comatose patient, with broad agreement among authors of its prognostic ...
متن کاملAssessing Conifer Ray Parenchyma for Ecological Studies: Pitfalls and Guidelines
Ray parenchyma is an essential tissue for tree functioning and survival. This living tissue plays a major role for storage and transport of water, nutrients, and non-structural carbohydrates (NSC), thus regulating xylem hydraulics and growth. However, despite the importance of rays for tree carbon and water relations, methodological challenges hamper knowledge about ray intra- and inter-tree va...
